Crooked Little Heart

Crooked Little Heart (1997) by Anne Lamott. Absorbing story of Rosie Ferguson, a girl in the process of becoming a woman, and the people who loom large in her life. Rosie is a very good junior tennis player, but she finds herself cheating. Meanwhile, her doubles partner Simone gets pregnant. Rosie's mother, Elisabeth, is a recovering alcoholic, but a good, caring mother. The novel explores the intricacies of relationships and family life in wise fashion. Grade: B+
