The Arrivals

The Arrivals (2011) by Meg Mitchell Moore. The arrivals of the title are the three grown children of Ginny and William Owen, who all arrive back home in the summer of 2008 with various adult problems. Lillian has left her unfaithful husband, Stephen arrives for the weekend with his pregnant wife Jane, and Rachel is fleeing the difficulties of single life in New York City. Moore does a good job portraying the characters, and the book is always believable, but at times it verges on soap opera. Grade: B
